run notes

I ran 3.5 miles in Higuera Blanca today. It was 85 degrees but it seemed wonderfully cool in comparison to this week. The humidity is so thick and consistent the trees are getting drinks from the air–hanging roots or vines down from above and I have to duck to avoid being slapped in the face as I plod past. The air was filled with jasmine or honeysuckle, sweet and hot like breathing in jam as it is being poured into the jars. I felt great even though yesterday I’d gotten a jab for Hep A. Last week was a tetanus immunization and I fainted while running. Hopefully they will have typhoid shots next week so I can test that out too!
